Anime And K-Pop Favourites Strike A Chord With SACC 2026 Audiences

Familiar melodies from anime and K-pop favourites drew a large audience to the Echoes of Fantasy concert at the Sharjah Animation and Comics Conference (SACC 2026), where a live orchestra brought some of the genre’s best-loved soundtracks to the stage.

The Saturday night programme featured music from Grendizer, Attack on Titan, Evangelion, Lupin III, Space Battleship Yamato, My Neighbor Totoro, Ponyo and KPop Demon Hunters, with audiences recording, singing along and responding to the familiar scores as they were reimagined for a full orchestral setting.

Shuzo Shiota, CEO of Polygon Pictures and one of SACC 2026’s leading international guests, joined the orchestra on stage to sing “Space Battleship Yamato”, creating a standout moment in the evening’s celebration of anime music and bringing audiences and industry professionals together through a shared love of the genre.

The concert forms part of SACC 2026’s live music programme, which continues today (Sunday) with Once Upon a Disney Night, an orchestral celebration of Disney favourites as the four-day conference draws to a close.
