Changing Workplace Trends And Innovations Dominate Discussion At HR Tech MENA Summit 2018

The 4thedition of the HR Tech MENA Summit that brought over 350 attendees concluded at the Palazzo Versace in Dubai on Tuesday, bringing the curtains down on two power-packed days of presentations and discussions around critical issues affecting the region’s HR industry, particularly the impact of technology on workplace productivity and the skills needed for jobs of the future.

The annual Summit, organized by Dubai-based QnA International and officially supported by the UAE Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation, provided a rare opportunity for HR professionals in the Middle East to meet and interact with experts and technology leaders from around the world in order to keep themselves — and their organizations — abreast of the latest technological trends shaping the future of work.

Following a series of insightful keynotes and panel discussions on Day 1, the second and final day of the Summit kicked off on Tuesday morning with two parallel sessions, as part of a new format introduced at this year’s edition, that revolved around the themes of ‘Talent Tech’ and ‘Learning and Development Tech’. The topics on Day 2 included modern talent management practices and the different approaches in driving talent strategy in the digital age, to the rapidly changing role of a CLO (Chief Learning Officer) and the rising need for organizations to make the move from traditional to digital learning ecosystem.

The Summit was organized with support from leading firms including IBM – Platinum Sponsor, Infor and PeopleFluent – Gold sponsors as well as XpertLearning, Cornerstone OnDemand and OnPro -Silver sponsors.[L1]

Giving a big thumbs-up to the annual event, Samantha Carter, Marketing Manager – Middle East & Africa, Infor, said, “It has been a very productive two days for us at the HR Tech MENA Summit. We met with a lot of senior HR professionals from interesting companies, and we find a lot of potential for HR solutions in the region. The conference had some great content on topics such as Cloud, Artificial Intelligence, talent management, and talent science that are very relevant to the region. We are very impressed with the organization of the event, the quality of the delegates and the fact that the organizers go the extra mile to introduce them to us.”

Frederik Ballon, Managing Director – EMEA, PeopleFluent, said, “It has been really exciting meeting companies from the region. This is the first time we participated in this event and the experience couldn’t be better and we look forward to coming back next year. We encountered a lot of companies in the region that we wouldn’t have had access to outside of this Summit. We met some really interesting people, most of the delegates are really interested in discussing HR technology at a strategic level and most of them are decision-makers in their environment. Overall it has been one of the stronger events in terms of its organization and content.”

Muzaffar Jamil, IT Advisor, OnPro, said, “I am surprised at the level and number of attendees at the Summit; most of them are C-level executives and their participation helped enrich the event immensely. It was a wonderful experience for me and we were able to generate a lot of leads. Overall, it was a well-managed and successful conference.”
