White Collar Fight Night is back

The competitors for White Collar Fight Night XIX are fast approaching the end of their eight-week training programme before taking to the ring on Friday 4th May at the Andalous Ballroom, Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa in Jumeirah Beach Residence.

Making their boxing ring debuts this year in front of a black-tie audience of over 500 corporate executives will be Lawrence ‘the Machine’ Coward, a 28 year old business development executive working with the Transguard Group, Stuart ‘The Sledgehammer’ Rodgers, a South African construction project manager working with Plafond Fit Out, SME owner, Kyle Baker, Chris ‘The Riddler’ Ridley, group sale and marketing director of an oil and gas company, tech company managing director Kareem ‘The Money’ Monem, and Gianluca Ruggeri, a corporate pilot, to name just a few.

According to White Collar Boxing promoter, Mark Povey of MJP Events, this edition of Fight Night, will mark a major milestone for the event which was launched back in 2006. “By the end of the night we will have seen our 250th competitor step into the ring since our first Fight Night, and some 10,000 corporate guests will have been at the Habtoor to watch the fights.”

The training camp is once again at Fit Boys Gym in JLT under the watchful eye of gym owner and head coach Milad Saadatifard and his team of highly qualified trainers.  “Milad fought at our very first White-Collar event and has gone on to have more than ten pro and semi-pro fights since then, so he is one of our real success stories. Importantly, he and his team are passionate about boxing and understand what it takes to make it in White Collar,” said Povey.

Bouts will be conducted under the rules of White Collar boxing which places priority on competitor safety and welfare. Each bout will consist of three two-minute rounds under the supervision of a professional referee. In accordance with White Collar’s sporting ethos, there are no losers – anyone who trains and then competes in White Collar Fight Night is considered a winner.

White Collar Fight Night XIX takes place on Friday 4th May 2018 in the Andalous Ballroom at the Habtoor Grand Beach Resort & Spa, JBR. The black-tie dinner offers an exciting programme of live entertainment, culminating in up to ten bouts of boxing.
