As a family, the Watson’s compete in many sporting events across the UAE, taking Rio along to join in the fun to spread awareness and integration of children with special needs in the UAE to promote sport, health and fitness within the community.

This Saturday, 9th May, as part of the challenge, Nick, with Rio strapped to his back, will aim to climb the equivalent of up and down the world’s tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa, on the stairs at their home. That’s a height of 829.8 metres from the ground to the tip of the building and back down again!

Aurelio German, Brand and Marketing Manager at Al-Futtaim Toyota said, “We have been working with Nick and the Team Angel Wolf team for a number of years and have always been inspired by their determination. With this new challenge, they are set to face one of their toughest events yet and reach, literally, new heights. We encourage the people of the UAE to join them in this mission and come together to continue to keep fit, while raising awareness for this worthy cause.”

While we continue to stay at home, the Watson’s are encouraging the wider community to participate virtually, by choosing a famous landmark to climb the height of from their home and sharing their results via the Team Angel Wolf social pages, using the hashtag #ClimbWithRio. Landmarks could include The Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpur (452m), the Empire State Building in New York (443.2m) or Dubai’s Burj Al Arab (321m). The event is fully inclusive whatever your age, ability or confidence and participants can join at their own convenience between Friday 8th May and Sunday 10th May, either doing the distance all in one go or across the weekend. All you need is a flight of stairs!

The event, which has been approved by the Dubai Community Authority and Dubai Sports Council aims to create a more inclusive, healthier and kinder global community. Follow Nick and Rio’s journey on social media that will go live on Saturday 9th May at 8pm.
