Together For A Cause: Talabat Celebrates ‘Hero Month’ To Make A Positive Difference To The Community

Together, Talabat employees are making a difference to the community. As part of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) and to foster positive employee engagement, the region’s pioneering online food delivery service platform, marked a 30-day ‘Hero Month’ community volunteering initiative.

In the UAE, the Talabat team marked Hero Month with several activities. They worked with the UAE Food Bank, the non-profit charitable organisation launched under the umbrella of Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, to distribute food to those in need while eliminating food waste.

Talabat’s team helped package and distribute food items collected by the UAE Food Bank. Together, more than 1500 food packages were delivered to the less fortunate as part of the initiative

Talabat Heroes also took their time out to help children of determination at the Senses Center Dubai as well as spent quality time with orphans, under the aegis of UAE Red Crescent.

They also engaged in learning mapping skills as part of the unique in-house Mapathon, whereby technology is used for the good of mankind. As part of Mapathon, organised by the Missing Maps Project, Talabat volunteers helped map areas where humanitarian organisations are trying to meet the needs of vulnerable people.

With the innovative volunteer event, the Talabat team learnt how to map and to apply their new

skill to map out a previously untapped area of the world that are susceptible to natural disasters.

Across the region, more than 350 employees of Talabat volunteered over 1300 hours to engage in 19 events in seven countries – all with the goal of giving back to the community.

Talabat will continue to uphold its CSR and employee engagement commitment through ongoing ‘hero’ activities – that underline the company’s commitment to doing business with purpose.
