Shabana Azmi To Award Huda Kattan At Global Gift Gala In Dubai, Together With Auction Of Exclusive Items

As anticipation builds for the sixth Dubai edition of The Global Gift Gala, to be held at the Grosvenor House on December 13th 2018, the charity has announced an addition to their star-filled talent line-up. The Global Gift Foundation has also announced their exclusive auction items including unique art, jewellery and luxury experiences to raise funds UAE-based global philanthropic organization, Dubai Cares, and the Global Gift Foundation.

Indian award-winning actress Shabana Azmi will join Maria Bravo, founder and creator of the Global Gift Foundation and Chair of the Global Gift Gala, on the red carpet prior to the gala dinner and auction. Shabana, herself a well-known social advocate, will speak at the event on the subjects of human rights and the empowerment of women, and present entrepreneur and beauty blogger Huda Kattan with the Global Gift Women Empowerment Award.

Also confirmed by the Global Gift Foundation are the evening’s collection of unique silent and live auction items, including highly collectible art, jewellery, and one-of-a-kind experiences.

Leading the art collection is a custom artwork by British Indian artist Sacha Jafri. Jafri, now widely regarded as one of the world’s leading and most celebrated artists, is creating the piece in a current visit to Global Gift Foundation beneficiary Harmony House in India, prior to the Global Gift Gala event later in the month. A 1958 lithograph of French painter Marc Chagal’s ‘Bird’ is also on offer, as is a painting by Mexican muralist Bibiana Domit.

Jewellery on offer to philanthropic bidders includes a Maison Messika 3-piece set of timeless yet contemporary diamond jewellery, while fashion admirers can bid on Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring-Summer 2014 Haute Couture Butterfly Effect collection, donated by John Paul Gaultier himself and valued at $35,000 or a bespoke suit by The Visiting Tailor.

Sports lovers have the unique opportunity to see Manchester City train, and to meet the players after watching a match at Etihad Stadium, as well as bid on an impressive collection of sports memorabilia that includes a boxing glove signed by the late Muhammad Ali and a cricket bat signed by both the India and Pakistan cricket teams from the 1985 B&H World Championship Final.
