Preparations Are In Full Swing For Organizing The 16th Edition Of Steel Fab 2020

The Expo Centre Sharjah said that preparations are in full swing for launching the 16th Steel Fab 2020, the region’s premier steel and metal industry event, from January 13 to 16, 2020.

The Centre added: “This year’s edition is witnessing the participation of premium global brands showcasing new and innovative products in the steel industry, in addition to the notable participation of a large number of national companies in the field of metal works and other allied industries.”

Meeting Exhibitors’ Aspirations

HE Saif Muhammad Al Midfa, CEO of the Expo Center Sharjah, said: “Our ongoing work and preparations for hosting the 16th Steel Fab 2020 tells that the upcoming edition will cater to the needs of the exhibitors who want to leverage the increasing demand from the primary sectors of this industry in the country and the region, to unveil their latest technologies and products and to place them on the market through this exhibition.”

The event will bring together leaders of the steel industry locally and regionally, as well as the world’s leading manufacturers and specialized in the steel industry.

Showcasing New Technologies

Al Midfa pointed out that Steel Fab 2020 will be featuring the new and key trends in this sector, special pavilions, live shows, and specialized seminars. This is in addition to revealing the latest machinery and equipment for the steel industry and modern technologies in the fields of metal forming, surface preparation, finishing, grinding, cutting, machinery manufacturing and other relevant engineering disciplines.

He explained that the interest in highlighting modern technology and new machines has always been Steel Fab’s mainstay over the previous editions, underlining that visitors to the exhibition will learn closely about the latest innovations from the world’s most prominent manufacturers and traders.

Steady Growth

Al Midfa further said: “Steel Fab 2020 is being held at a time when steel fabrication and metalworking industry in the country and the region have reported impressive results in the first half of the year 2019 on the back of new construction contracts valued at $138 billion   that was awarded in the GCC this year and the manufacturing industry that has witnessed a steady growth over the past few years.”

The construction industry has a key role in backing the big infrastructure and commercial projects, supported by increased government spending.

According to data from the Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Authority, the manufacturing sector’s contribution to the UAE’s non-oil GDP grew 2.5% to Dhs122 billion (US$33.2bn) in 2018 from Dhs119.7 billion (US$32.5bn) in 2017.

Good Economic Policies

“The UAE’s good economic policies have led to buoyant construction and manufacturing industries, something which reinforced the country’s metalworking and manufacturing sector in parallel with positive growth levels. This made the concerned authorities are constantly striving to get advanced equipment, modern technologies, and new products. This is also which Steel Fab is keen on fulfilling by exploring the latest global innovations in the field of metal forming and steel industry showcased by major companies from different countries of the world,” Al Midfa concluded.

The 16th Steel Fab 2020 will be focusing on several sectors, including power tools, welding and cutting, machine tools and piping machines, stainless steel, and steelmaking technology.

The event also allows experts, engineers and university students to learn about the modern ideas and products on display that would help manufacturers improve their production in building and construction and mining equipment and others.

Steel Fab 2020 is organized and hosted by the Expo Centre Sharjah, with the support of the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry.
