More Than 1,900 Beneficiaries At Al Mizhar And Umm Al Sheif Islamic Cultural Centres In The Third Quarter Of 2019

The Al Mizhar and Umm Al Sheif centres of Islamic Cultural Centres of Islamic Affairs and Islamic Charitable Activities Department in Dubai (IACAD) announced that the number of people who benefited from their religious awareness programmes stood at 1,995 during the third quarter of 2019.

Ms. Hamda Al Muhairi, Director of the Centres’ Department, reaffirmed the keenness to organise these programmes, given their importance in promoting Islamic culture and raising religious awareness in the emirate of Dubai. Al Muhairi said: “We are committed to spreading Islamic culture and the right knowledge of religious sciences, in order to inculcate Islamic ethics and culture among the current and future generations. This is in line with Dubai’s efforts to reaffirm its standing as a leading center for moderate Islam and Islamic culture.”

Hamda Mohammed Al Ameri, Head of Studies and Teachers’ Affairs noted that Al Mizhar and Umm Al Sheif Centres use innovative tools such as smart learning, mind-mapping education, pillar education, virtual reality learning, and artificial intelligence learning in these programmes in order to achieve the desired outcomes.

The programmes and events organised by the Department included scientific and community activities, namely: Holy Quran Memorization sessions, Science Forum, Quran Recognition course, Al-Itqan course, Shatibiyyah course, Waqf and Ebteda course, Fal-Nataahad (Let’s Undertake) course, Abr Al Atheer course, in addition to the Summer programme.

Based on the third quarter results of both centres, the Holy Quran Memorization sessions had the largest number of participants at 1,343, followed by the Summer programme, which saw participation from 475 individuals. The number of participants in both Science forum and Waqf and Ebteda course reached 40, while 28 participated in “Fal-Nataahad” course and 22 in Shatibiyyah course. A further 19 took part in Al-Itqan course, and 17 and 11 respectively in Quran Recognition course and Abr Al Atheer course.

The Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department organises a variety of religious awareness programmes and events regularly at its various centers and departments, as part of its commitment to raise religious awareness among Muslims. This is achieved through publications, lessons, fatwas and Holy Quran memorization sessions.
