Middle East Event Show 2026 Concludes On A High And Strategic Resilience Across The Events Industry

The 17th edition of the Middle East Event Show (MEES) drew to a successful close after returning to Dubai for one of the year’s biggest gatherings of events, experiential marketing and live entertainment professionals.

Held on 18 and 19 August at Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre, the 2026 edition welcomed 6,400+ professionals alongside 100+ exhibitors, 60+ speakers and industry leaders.

The return of MEES brought together event organisers, agencies, venues, suppliers, technology providers and experiential specialists for two days of knowledge sharing, networking and industry collaboration.

Strategic resilience was at the heart of this year’s programme, with discussions examining how the events sector can respond to changing business conditions, adopt new technologies, strengthen its workforce and continue delivering meaningful live experiences.

“MEES 2026 demonstrated the strength, resilience and ambition of the events community across the Middle East,” said Amar Daginawala, Exhibition Director of MEES. “Bringing the industry back together in Dubai created an important opportunity to discuss the challenges ahead, share practical knowledge and build the partnerships that will shape the sector’s future.”

Strategic Resilience at the Heart of the Conversation

The conference programme featured keynote presentations, panel discussions and expert-led sessions exploring how events businesses can become more adaptable, sustainable and prepared for future change.

Highlighted sessions included Built to Last: Resilience as the Events Industry’s New Standard, which examined how companies can strengthen their operations and prepare for a changing industry.

Other sessions included, The AI-Proof Industry? Why Events Might Be Technology’s Biggest Blind Spot, Human to Human: What the Industry Is Really Thinking, Freelance Under Pressure: The Future of Our Beloved Freelancers, Marketing That Moves: Winning in the Algorithm Era and Event Industry 2030: What Will Disappear?

Regional and international speakers included Azza Hegazi, Head of Global Experiences at Snapchat; Cosmin Ivan, CEO of Platinumlist; Iyad Rasbey, Vice President, Destination Tourism Development at Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority; Priya Patel, Head of Communications at Coca-Cola Arena; and Shea Bennett of Identity Middle East.

Discussions addressed artificial intelligence, changing audience expectations, workforce pressures, professional wellbeing, the future of ticketing, and the growing contribution of events to tourism and destination development.

Together, the sessions demonstrated how strategic resilience, innovation, and human connection are becoming increasingly important to the long-term success of the events industry.

An Interactive Learning Experience

MEES 2026 expanded its practical learning programme through the Workshop Zone, developed in partnership with The Events Group (TEG).

The dedicated space moved beyond traditional presentations by giving attendees the opportunity to participate in interactive sessions addressing real-world industry challenges. Workshops covered key topics including artificial intelligence and creative strategy.

The Workshop Zone complemented the wider conference programme by creating another environment for professionals to exchange knowledge, develop practical skills, and engage directly with industry peers and experts.

Industry Partners Supporting MEES 2026

MEES 2026 was supported by partners representing the technical, operational and people-led expertise behind successful live experiences. Their contributions extended across the exhibition, Workshop Zone and Middle East Event Awards.

The success of MEES 2026 was also strengthened by the support of its industry partners, whose expertise spans technology, production, experiential solutions, and event services.

Siddhant Sharma, Co-Founder, Rayqube, said:

“Our industry spends the year building experiences for everyone else, so it was important that MEES gave us the opportunity to experience one together. As the market continued to evolve, the event provided valuable insight into what clients and peers were thinking, helping to inform how we approached the year ahead.”

Edwin Cheeran, Managing Director, SLS Production, said:
“MEES 2026 was a valuable opportunity for SLS Production to reconnect with the region’s events community, strengthen existing relationships and establish new partnerships. We were proud to showcase our technical production expertiseacross audio, lighting, video, LED, staging, rigging and special effects, while exchanging ideas about the future of live experiences. Our successful participation reinforced our commitment to supporting the continued growth and ambition of the Middle East’s events industry.”

Jai Sharma, Founder, Envelop, said:
“Every space we design starts with a story worth telling. Partnering with Rayqube for our Dubai debut allowed us to bring that philosophy to a market seeking experiences with genuine cultural depth. MEES gave us an important opportunity to reconnect with the events community, introduce Envelop to the region and take part in meaningful conversations about what comes next. Our successful participation marked an important first step in building Envelop’s presence in Dubai.”
