London Art House Hosts Inaugural UAE Exhibition Featuring Middle Eastern Artists

London art house, Fortune Favours Art, held its first ever Dubai exhibition, 3@D3, held in Dubai’s Design District, featuring artwork by Persian artist, Saeedeh Keshvari, established UK contemporary sculptor, Schoony, and emerging talent, Lillie Bernie. The exhibition showcased a live art collaboration in which Bernie painted a one-of-a-kind sculpture by Schoony, marking the first time the two artists have worked together to complete an artwork. The piece will be auctioned off and proceeds of the sale will be donated to charity.

Schoony is considered one of the most pioneering established artists in today’s contemporary art market. The London-born artist has been working on the sets of Hollywood films for years, with his works featured in blockbusters such as Troy, Harry Potter and Gladiator. Emerging talent, Bernie, is an upcoming London-based abstract artist inspired by human interactions and emotions and challenging personal experiences. Her style of painting is inspired by, in her own words, ‘thinking about something greater than one’s self.’ Dubai-based, Persian artist, Keshvari, creates art to share her personal experience of Middle Eastern literature and philosophy, with the intention of touching the hearts of her audience with every new piece she releases.

Fortune Favours Art launched in the UAE earlier this year with an objective to provide a global platform for regional artists to showcase their work to international collectors. It also offers the local market access to some of the world’s best-known contemporary and street art from both western and Middle Eastern markets.

“We are thrilled to have brought these three incredibly talented artists together for the first time. I have been working alongside both Schoony and Lillie Bernie for a long time and it is such an honour to have exhibited their works, as well as the works of Saeedeh Keshvari, at our inaugural UAE show,” said Wright.

3@D3 drew wide interest from the local art community, with the live art show by Bernie being the main attraction. Of her participation, Bernie said: “It has been truly amazing to have finally showcased my art in the UAE alongside such incredible artists like Saeedeh Keshvari and Schoony. I thoroughly enjoyed having the opportunity to talk to so many of the local art enthusiasts, as it has helped me gain a real understanding of the country’s up and coming art market. We are definitely looking forward to the rest of Fortune Favours Art’s journey in the UAE.”

As a newcomer to the local market, Fortune Favours Art hopes to be recognised as a visionary pioneer for its contribution towards developing the UAE as an international creative hub that supports and empowers local artists.

As part of its momentum gathering, the art house plans to continue raising awareness of global art in the UAE, while simultaneously working to further stimulate creativity by lending themselves as a platform to showcase and promote local talent to the international art community. Fortune Favours Art aims to host future exhibitions with local, emerging and established artists in the new year.
