JLL MENA Announces Dates For Ongoing Sponsorship Of Annual Triathlon Series

JLL, the world’s leading real estate investment and advisory firm, announced today its continued support for the annual three-race-triathlon series, in line with the government’s vision of becoming the world’s most active city.

Hosted on the outskirts of Dubai in the grounds of the stunning Jebel Ali Resorts and Hotels, the first race will be held on 7 December 2019, followed by 15 February 2020 and 19 March 2020. New for this season are dedicated categories for UAE Nationals being offered in conjunction with the newly formed UAE Triathlon Federation.

“Now in its seventh year, this event attracts participants from all ages and fitness levels, and we are thrilled by the interest and success it has managed to garner over the years,” said Thierry Delvaux, CEO of JLL MEA.

“The series also provides us with the perfect opportunity to encourage our employees to adopt a more active and enriched lifestyle, ensuring their overall well-being in the process.

“As with each year, the 2019 /2020 edition will help contribute to a fitter and more active Dubai,” he added.

The triathlon series is once again being hosted in partnership with Race ME, with the support of the Dubai Sports Council. Among the popular races this year is the ‘Super Sprint’, which includes a 375m swim, 10km bike ride and a 2.5km run, which is aimed at beginners looking to start a triathlon. Also featured is the more challenging ‘Sprint Distance’, in which participants will tackle a 750m swim, 20km bike ride and a 5km run.

“The JLL Series is our longest running triathlon series and one of the most popular in the region,” commented Paul Venn, Managing Partner, Race ME. “The support we receive from JLL goes way beyond naming sponsorship. From the CEO down, the whole workforce participates, and this contributes to the community feel and relaxed family atmosphere that athletes enjoy.

“Every year we attract many first time triathletes, including a growing number of UAE Nationals, which has contributed immensely to the growth of the sport in the country,” he continued.

This year’s adventure-packed three-series-races will challenge athletes to start swimming from the beach area inside the resort, before racing through the hotel grounds to transition to the bike course, followed by a 2.5km run on a track against the breath-taking view of the Marina.
