Award for Best Sustainable and Ecological Product: Nook

The award for best sustainable/ecological product has been given to Isku for its novelty product Nook. It is a pedagogically versatile space-in-space learning solution with an emphasis on the concept of joyful learning. With the lightweight felt elements the students can quickly create a sound-absorbing and protective lightweight partitions, learning den, tunnel or even a spaceship.

Nook brings the circular economy mindset to life: the manufacturing material of Nook utilizes recycled PET plastic bottles. Nook has been designed by Petteri Häkkinen and its pedagogical design is by Elise Tarvainen.

“Nook is a unique example of an environmentally friendly product designed with learning in mind, and to cater the objectives of the curriculum. The innovative design of the product and its functionality increase the active involvement of students, and enable students to be designers of their learning spaces”, says Elise Tarvainen, Operations Director for Isku’s International Business
