GMC Introduces Versatility, Refinement, And Advanced Safety Technologies On The 2018 Acadia In The Middle East

GMC is upgrading the 2018 Acadia offerings in the Middle East with the All-Terrain trim now available on both the SLE and SLT models of the premium crossover. Available with five-, six- and seven-passenger seating configurations, the 2018 Acadia is designed to offer great versatility, more refinement and advanced safety technologies, while featuring an efficient powertrain, a lightweight body structure and enhanced off-road capability.

Aimed at the heart of the midsize SUV segment, the 2018 Acadia hosts up to three rows of seating on most models, while the All-Terrain models feature an advanced All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system with Active Twin Clutch, which optimizes traction for every condition it encounters. All-Terrain models are distinguished from the rest of the Acadia lineup with a body-color grille surround, black chrome trim and exclusive wheels.

The 2018 GMC Acadia is equipped with a powerful and efficient 3.6L V-6 engine, which is SAE-certified at 310 horsepower; and thanks to GM’s Active Fuel Management (AFM) technology, an improved fuel consumption level of 11.2 L/100km on the combined cycle is achieved for the Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) models and 11.7 L/100km for AWD, putting it among the best in its segment for fuel economy. The 2018 Acadia’s V6 engine features direct injection, variable valve timing as well as Active Fuel Management (Cylinder Deactivation), and pairs with a six-speed automatic transmission and an electronically controlled drive mode selector.

Sajed Sbeih, Head of Brand, GMC, General Motors Middle East, said, “Boasting a bold design, the Acadia captures a great feeling of refinement and versatility in everything from the responsive feeling behind the wheel to the way passengers interact with its intuitive features. With the enhanced All-Terrain trim and expanded seating options, we are confident to say that the Acadia is an ideal crossover for the Middle East region, offering a high level of functionality while delivering big advantages and balance to our customers’ everyday lives.”

The 2018 Acadia builds on a legacy of intuitive functionality, with new features such as the Rear Seat Alert to remind the driver when an item may have been left in the rear seats and a tire fill alert, a system that provides audible alerts when inflating a tire (standard on all modes). Other features include Smart Slide feature that offers a split-folding second-row seat.
