Middle East Film & Comic Con (MEFCC) has launched a nation-wide search to find homegrown emerging talent. The organizers announced today that they have created this unique opportunity with leading talent agency Miranda Davidson Studios.

Taking place in the MEFCC on Friday 12^th April and Saturday 13^th April, rising stars across the region will have the opportunity to be on the books for the same company that helped cast major Hollywood blockbuster movies, including Fast and Furious, Star Trek and many more!

Simply buy your tickets to MEFCC, register on the MEFCC website, and start practicing your audition. The winner will also be cast in the MEFCC 2020 promotional video.

Everyone is welcome to attend the casting (minimum age is 6) and no prior experience is necessary! Still not sure how you’ll impress on the day? We caught up with Miranda Davidson herself to find out her TOP TEN TIPS on how to ace a casting call!

Miranda Davidsons, CEO of Miranda Davidson Studios:

1. ‘Make sure you find us at the headshot photobooth when you arrive at the Middle East Film & Comic Con. This will give you time to get your “sides” (casting material) ahead of time and also squeeze in some good practice!’

2. ‘When you get your “epic movie moment” remember to look up the movie and learn about your character beforehand. Who are they? What do they want? Who are they talking too?’

3. ‘Do NOT try and be like the actor who originally played the role. Use your own imagination and make it your own. These opportunities do not come around too often, so take full advantage of the moment.’

4. ‘Why should you be the next face of Miranda Davidson Studios? Remember we want to know who YOU are. Be genuine and don’t hold back. Be your most authentic self.’

6. ‘You only have a few minutes in the casting, but they are all yours. It’s your time to shine so be prepared and maximise every second.’

7. ‘Relax! Take some deep abdominal breathes before you cast. Find a calm place to centre yourself. Remember the experts want you to succeed and will guide you through the process.’

8. ‘Have fun! Acting is fun, and we want to see that you have the raw passion, enjoyment and enthusiasm for the craft to make a career from this.’

9. ‘Be patient and make friends with other actors. It’s more fun when you have friends who share your dream.’

10. ‘Be a sponge! Soak in as much of the knowledge and experience as you can. We don’t expect perfection. We want to be a part of your journey so make the most of it!’

What will you have to do? Once you’ve arrived at the casting call you can choose a 1-minute monologue to present and then tell the judges in 60 seconds or less why you should be the next face of Miranda Davidson Studios.

What do you win? Miranda Davidson will be casting for a one-year agency contract for the news face of Miranda Davidson Studios. In addition, you will become part of the MEFCC promotional campaign!
