‘Content Is King’ As Starzplay Continues To Invest For Middle East Viewers

STARZPLAY, the subscription video on demand (SVOD) service, is leading the way in content with targeted appeal to a wide range of audiences across the Middle East and North Africa (MENA). STARZPLAY has made a multimillion-dollar investment in programming content in the first quarter of 2019, curating series and movies tailored to its demographically diverse, one-million-strong subscriber base across the region.

During the month of March alone a number of SVOD exclusives were released including Season 4 of the Showtime masterpiece Billions (March 18), Season 5 of Jane The Virgin (March 28) and Season 2 of Knightfall (March 26), a series from the producers of Vikings and starring Mark Hamill who was recently added for the second season. March also saw the release of season 14 of the box set of Grey’s Anatomy.

April looks just as promising, with viewers anticipating the SVOD exclusive releases of Scandal (April 6), Supergirl (April 10), as well as Blindspot towards the end of the month (April 28). Thereafter, STARZPLAY will be premiering its brand new Arabic content in time for Ramadan.

With 10,000 plus hours of available content, the streaming service provider promises its subscribers more first-to-market show reveals for 2019. STARZPLAY provides thousands of premium titles, ranging from family favourite entertainment to documentaries, same-day-as-the-US series to dedicated Arabic and Bollywood classics to exclusive STARZ Original productions.

Sought-after comedy series that were recently added to the STARZPLAY portal include highly popular The Office, Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock. Enhancing its vast selection of children’s movies and shows, STARZPLAY recently included the dearly loved Paw Patrol, Spongebob Squarepants and Penguins of Madagascar in its offering.
