Accessible on the platform, users can now celebrate their musical moments for the year and can share them on social media channels.”

Closing 2019, we look at the music trends, the newcomers and top performers this year and top albums. This year, listeners got to enjoy songs that marked 2019 such as “Ensay” by Saad Lamjarred & Mohamed Ramadan the most-streamed Arabic song, followed by “Ya betfaker ya bethess” by Sherine Abdel Wahab and “Men el bidaya” by Mohamed Hamaki. The spot of most-streamed international songs of this year were ‘Seniorita’ by Shawn Mendes & Camila Cabello, followed by ‘7 rings’ by Ariana Grande and ‘It’s you’ by Ali Gatie.

From Arabic Indie to Hip-Hop to singer-songwriter pop, 2019 was a bountiful year for all kinds of music. Top regional artists such as Nassif Zatoun, Hussein Al Jasmio and Amr Diab amongst others defined the year with massive popularity. However, when it came to the best Arabic albums for 2019, these will reward Mohamed Hamaki with “Kol Yom min Da”, Tamer Ashour with “Ayam” and finally Cairokee with “Abna’ albatta Alsawda’”.

Looking closer at trends, we witness the uprising of music productions for local artists across the region. The last being for the United Arab Emirates local talent who are gaining great momentum on the local music scene such as Hamdan Al Bloushi and Khalifa Nasser.

We close 2019 on a high note on the regional music front and look forward to groundbreaking releases and marking new milestones in the coming year.
