The UAE Is Completing Arrangements To Host The International Military Sports Council's Scientific Symposium From October 20-22
Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, the UAE will host the International Military Sports Council (CISM) Scientific Symposium, which will be held from October 20 to 22, 2025, in Abu Dhabi, under the title: "Physical Readiness and Resilience in the Armed Forces: Challenges and Future Forecasts."
His Excellency Major General Obaid Ali Al Mansouri, Chairman of the Higher Organizing Committee of the CISM Symposium, said: “In light of the directives of His Highness the Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, and with his follow-up, we are working to complete the final preparations for hosting the symposium and take all necessary arrangements to ensure the success of its objectives. This is especially true as it is fully consistent with the UAE’s approach of adopting all means that support cooperation, spread peace, and establish its foundations around the world.”
The symposium provides a strategic platform for exchanging expertise and enhancing international cooperation in the field of military sports, contributing to the development of armies' capabilities to meet future challenges. It also has an impact on instilling noble sporting values as a means of spreading the foundations of understanding and peace.
This prestigious symposium dates back to 1948. It is the second largest event on the Council's agenda after the Military World Games. It is held every two years in one of the member states, with the participation of a select group of international military experts, academics, and researchers, to discuss the latest developments in the field of physical readiness and military training.
It's worth noting that the UAE was selected to host the symposium, which is held biennially, during the 2023 General Assembly meeting of the International Military Sports Council in Moscow. This affirms the UAE's high standing globally and the confidence of member states in the UAE's global capabilities in hosting and organizing major events.
