Desalto Debuts At Dubai Design Week, Nov 2025

For Desalto’s first ever appearance at the Middle East’s leading design fair Downtown Design, the brand will present a curated showcase of iconic pieces and novelties that capture their innovative approach to furniture design, commitment to craftsmanship and sustainability.

This is reflected in their installation which allows the visitor to fully immerse themselves in a holistic vision based on the human experience. For Desalto, the concept is not only a stand, but a manifesto for responsible, expressive, and flexible design.

Embodying ‘Made In Italy’ expertise, the brand is famous for its notable collaborations, including Piero Lissoni, Arik Levy, Marc Krusin and Nendo - connecting inherited manufacturing knowledge with contemporary furniture concepts. For Desalto, the value of artisanal craftsmanship is fundamental and contributes to the elevation of the brand’s success on an international level.

Desalto already work extensively with architects and interior designers in the MENA region, promoting a demand-led participation in Downtown Design. This strategic step is intended to strengthen the brand’s presence in the region and harness the moment of Dubai Design Week to connect with new designers, partners and tastemakers in the market’s buoyant contract sector.

“Our brand, deeply rooted in the tradition of Italian design, offers collections that combine aesthetics, functionality, and tailor-made craftsmanship — qualities that are particularly appreciated in this market. Dubai attracts an international clientele that values quality, customisation, and originality — values that perfectly align with our design philosophy. Dubai, with its unique mix of innovation and global vision, represents not only a key market for us, but also the perfect stage to express our identity and approach to contemporary design.” - Chief Commercial Officer, Francesco Frates

The Stand

The stand for Downtown Design Dubai 2025, designed by Francesco Rota Studio, is a clear statement of intent: a visual and spatial synthesis of the brand’s identity. Under the claim “Metal is our nature,” the concept for Desalto’s stand affirms the brand’s savoir-faire in metal craftsmanship while projecting a contemporary vision of the living environment, where design, innovation, and social responsibility coexist in harmony.

Desalto builds upon its industrial roots with a human-centered and conscious approach. Metal-recyclable, durable, and expressive, is complemented by noble materials such as wood and marble, along with sustainable upholstery textiles. The installation highlights the craftsmanship behind each product, emphasizing the brand’s dual essence: precision and emotion, technical mastery and aesthetic refinement.

Among the product selection for Downtown Design 2025:

Arminda Shelving Unit by Caronni e Bonanomi

Thanks to the range of finishes and solutions, Armida interprets every kind of lifestyle with its purity and simple lines. The metal structural design of the Armida allows the uprights to transfer weight to the floor enabling the system to support substantial loads, easily adapting to different heights.

Clip Seating System by Francesco Rota

Inserted into a three-dimensional space, the Clip seating system stands out as a precisely drawn graphic line. The perfect integration of upholstery and metal structure, with slender tubular frames creates a balance between solidity and suspension. Available in a variety of modules from single seater to chaise lounge.

Clay Table by Marc Krusin

Celebrating its 10th anniversary, the award winning Clay’s geometric shapes are combined perfect balance in multiple material and colour variations. Also in a low-table version, this piece is now regarded as a classic of international contemporary design.

MM8 Table by Guglielmo Poletti

The MM8 table by Guglielmo Poletti explores the limits of material in relation to its structural properties, exploiting the physical qualities of aluminium. The construction brings an overall tension to the structure, allowing the top to reach a minimum thickness of 8 mm

Additional collections on show at the event: Calum Home by Simon Pengelly; Heb Round, Rebus, and Unlimited all by Francesco Rota
