The event was also held to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the founding of HyperloopTT and showcased the company\u2019s progress since it was established as the first Hyperloop company in the world.<\/p>\n<p>The capsule, \u201cQuintero One\u201d is constructed almost completely out of HyperloopTT\u2019s Vibranium<sup>TM<\/sup>, a specially made dual-layer smart composite material. It was built at the Southern Spain aerospace facilities of HyperloopTT\u2019s partner Airtificial, a new company formed by the merger of composite expert Carbures and engineering company Inypsa that manufactures for many leading companies including Airbus and Boeing. The design for the capsule was created in collaboration with world renowned transport design consultancy PriestmanGoode and won the Gold award at the <a href=\"https:\/\/drivenxdesign.com\/LON17\/project.asp?ID=16327\">2017 London Design Awards<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cQuintero One\u201d Hyperloop Passenger Capsule Specifications:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Length:<\/strong> 32 meters (105 feet)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Inner cabin length: <\/strong>15 meters (50 feet)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Weight:<\/strong> 5,000 kilograms (5 tons)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other components include:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>21,000 skilled engineering hours<\/li>\n<li>5,000 skilled assembly hours<\/li>\n<li>82 carbon fiber panels<\/li>\n<li>72 sensors<\/li>\n<li>75,000 rivets<\/li>\n<li>7,200 square meters of fiber (1.8 acres)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The capsule will be delivered to HyperloopTT\u2019s research and development center in Toulouse, France for additional assembly and integration into the system, before it is used on one of the first commercial tracks.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorking together with engineers from HyperloopTT, we are proud to be pushing the envelope of smart materials in transportation and manufacturing,\u201d said Airtificial Co-Founder and Chairman, Rafael Contreras. \u201cToday we have unveiled a new type of transportation vessel built with an industry high percentage of composite, which makes the Hyperloop capsule perhaps the safest transportation vehicle in the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe creation of this capsule represents over a year long journey of the best expertise in design, engineering, and the development of cutting edge materials,\u201d said Dirk Ahlborn HyperloopTT co-founder and CEO. \u201cIn just five years we have solved and improved upon all of the technology needed for Hyperloop with our new levitation system, vacuum pumps, batteries, and smart composites.
