The 17th edition of the Middle East Event Show (MEES)\u00a0drew to a successful close after returning to Dubai for one of the year’s biggest gatherings of events, experiential\u00a0marketing\u00a0and live entertainment professionals.<\/p>\n

Held on 18 and 19 August at Sheikh Maktoum Hall, Dubai World Trade Centre, the 2026 edition welcomed\u00a06,400+\u00a0professionals alongside\u00a0100+\u00a0exhibitors,\u00a060+\u00a0speakers and industry leaders.<\/p>\n

The return of MEES brought together event\u00a0organisers, agencies, venues, suppliers, technology\u00a0providers\u00a0and experiential specialists for two days of knowledge sharing,\u00a0networking\u00a0and industry collaboration.<\/p>\n

Strategic resilience was at the heart of this year’s\u00a0programme, with discussions examining how the events sector can respond to changing business conditions, adopt\u00a0new technologies, strengthen its\u00a0workforce\u00a0and continue delivering meaningful live experiences.<\/p>\n

“MEES 2026 demonstrated the strength, resilience and ambition of the events community across the Middle East,” said Amar Daginawala,\u00a0Exhibition\u00a0Director of MEES. “Bringing the industry\u00a0back together in Dubai created an important opportunity to discuss the challenges ahead, share practical knowledge and build the partnerships that will shape the sector’s future.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Strategic Resilience at the Heart of the Conversation<\/p>\n

The conference\u00a0programme\u00a0featured keynote presentations, panel discussions and expert-led sessions exploring how events businesses can become more adaptable,\u00a0sustainable\u00a0and prepared for future change.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Highlighted sessions included\u00a0Built to Last: Resilience as the Events Industry’s New Standard, which examined how companies can strengthen their operations and prepare for a changing industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Other sessions\u00a0included,\u00a0The\u00a0AI-Proof Industry? Why Events Might Be Technology’s Biggest Blind Spot,\u00a0Human to Human: What the Industry Is Really Thinking,\u00a0Freelance Under Pressure: The Future of Our Beloved Freelancers,\u00a0Marketing That Moves: Winning in the Algorithm Era\u00a0and\u00a0Event Industry 2030: What Will Disappear?<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Regional and international speakers included Azza Hegazi, Head of Global Experiences at Snapchat; Cosmin Ivan, CEO of\u00a0Platinumlist; Iyad\u00a0Rasbey, Vice President, Destination Tourism Development at Ras Al Khaimah Tourism Development Authority; Priya Patel, Head of Communications at Coca-Cola Arena; and Shea Bennett of Identity Middle East.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Discussions addressed artificial intelligence, changing audience expectations, workforce pressures, professional wellbeing, the future of\u00a0ticketing,\u00a0and the growing contribution of events to tourism and destination development.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Together, the sessions\u00a0demonstrated\u00a0how strategic resilience,\u00a0innovation,\u00a0and human connection are becoming increasingly important to the long-term success of the events industry.<\/p>\n

An Interactive Learning Experience<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\n

MEES 2026 expanded its practical learning\u00a0programme\u00a0through the Workshop Zone, developed in partnership with The Events Group (TEG).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The dedicated space moved beyond traditional presentations by giving attendees the opportunity to\u00a0participate\u00a0in interactive sessions addressing real-world industry challenges. Workshops covered key topics including artificial intelligence and creative strategy.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The Workshop Zone complemented the wider conference\u00a0programme\u00a0by creating another environment for professionals to exchange knowledge, develop practical\u00a0skills,\u00a0and engage directly with industry peers and experts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

A Night of Recognition: The Middle East Event Awards 2026<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

On 20 August, the spotlight shifted to Madinat Jumeirah for the Middle East Event Awards, celebrating the\u00a0organisations, individuals and projects making an outstanding contribution to the region’s events industry.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

The ceremony brought together\u00a0over 1,000\u00a0industry professionals to\u00a0recognise\u00a0achievement across\u00a035\u00a0award categories, spanning live productions, venues, technology, creativity, sustainability, emerging\u00a0talent\u00a0and industry leadership.<\/p>\n
