The seventh edition of the Knowledge summit is scheduled to be held at the EXPO 2020 Dubai on March 14 and 15 2022, under the theme ‘Knowledge: Protecting Humanity and the Planet in the Pandemics.\u2019 The summit, organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, will also host a three-day virtual conference from March 16 to 18, 2022.<\/p>\n

This edition of the Summit will hostmore than 50 speakers, consisting of elite experts, leaders, and government officials from all over the world. The summit will entail in depth discussions from various perspectives on the issues of food security, the impact of epidemics on the climate, the future of education, public health and mentality during epidemics, poverty reduction, the availability and use of data, and the path towards the development of a knowledge-based economy. The summit aims to explore the opportunities and options that that can be provided by knowledge for the protection of humanity.<\/p>\n

H.E. Jamal bin Huwaireb,\u00a0CEO of MBRF said, \u201cThe seventh edition of the Knowledge Summit will be the largestinternational knowledge discussion platform. Itholds significantobjectives, which are aimed toward exploring opportunities and options to protect humanity in the present and the future.These discussions are especially relevantafter the past two years, where we have faced many repercussions ofthe pandemic.Various challenges havecast an unfavorable shadow on humanity, causing adverse effects on health, politics, economy, and society. They continue to intensify day after day, especially on the lowest-income countries.This edition of the summitwill provide a regional and global reference ofthe knowledge-based practices that must be adopted to overcome the various challengesofthe current decade.\u201d<\/p>\n

His Excellency also added: \u201cFor the first time, the summit\u2019s agenda includes more than fifty leaders and experts as speakers, with parallel sessions being held besides the major sessions. In another first, we will also be working in the online mode, with activities being held virtually over thespan of three days.\u201d<\/p>\n

The list of speakers includenotable personalities, including H.E Jamal bin Huwaireb<\/strong>,CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF), Prof. Shafi Ahmed<\/strong>, Multi-Award-Winning Surgeon, Teacher, Futurist, Innovator, Entrepreneur, Karam Jabr<\/strong>, Head of Supreme Council for Media Regulation (SCMR) in Egypt, Ali Jaber<\/strong>, Group TV Director, MBC, Ali Alhamli<\/strong>, the News Center Department Director, Dubai Media Incorporated, Abdel Mageed Yahia<\/strong>, WFP Country Director in UAE and Representative for the GCC Region, and Katherine Bruce<\/strong>, Sustainability & Climate Change lead for WSP\u2019s Middle East team.<\/p>\n

Some other eminent personalities include MarounKairouz<\/strong>. Director of MENA region, World Economic Forum (WEF), Sujit Kumar Mohanty<\/strong>, Chief of United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR) Regional Office for Arab States and Bashar Kilani<\/strong>, Managing Director at Accenture Middle East.<\/p>\n

The Knowledge Summit\u2019sfirst day includes six sessions and a training workshop.The second day will include seven sessions and a workshop, all to be held at the Expo 2020 Dubai main hall. There will alsobe five sessions running parallel on both days, called \u2018Knowledge Space.\u2019 The number of virtual sessions, however, is expected to exceed fourteen.<\/p>\n

The main hall sessions will discuss broad concepts, such as \u2018Knowledge Drives the Future\u2019, \u2018Web Education 3.0 – The Metaversity\u2019, \u2018The Role & Impact of Media During Crisis: COVID-19\u2019(as an example)<\/strong>, \u2018Pandemics and Their Impact on the Climate: A Double-Edged Sword\u2019, \u2018Food Security: Between Sustainable Supply Chains and Self-Sufficiency\u2019, \u2018Fighting Poverty\u2019, \u2018Mental Health and Pandemics\u2019, \u2018Young Entrepreneurship\u2019, and \u2018Social Progress Index.\u2019<\/p>\n

The \u201cKnowledge Space\u2019 sessions will investigate various topics, such as \u2018Scaling up resilience in times of uncertainty\u2019, \u2018A new model for education\u2019, \u2018Disseminating knowledge in non-traditional ways: The Researcher\u2019s experience\u2019, \u2018Fostering collaboration and innovation mechanisms to manage risks\u2019, \u2018Promoting science and policy dialogues: Science\u2013policy interfaces\u2019, \u2018The Future of Knowledge Foresight Report 2022\u2019: A transformative capacity model for future-ready societies\u2019, \u2018Growing the knowledge economy in an age of intangibles\u2019, \u2018The Global Knowledge Index: Sectoral perspectives\u2019, and \u2018Data availability and access: The key to resilience\u2019.<\/p>\n

The summit\u2019s virtual sessions will explore several topics with themes such as \u2018Effective Leadership During Crisis: Transforming Cultures & Driving Innovation\u2019, \u2018Reinventing Jobs and Employment\u2019, \u2018Resilient Infrastructure: A Long-Term Profitable Investment, \u2018Water Security: A Cornerstone for Economic, Social and Environmental Development\u2019, \u2018SDG-Based Learning: Qualifying Young Changemakers\u2019,\u00a0 \u2018Knowledge Management and Big Data in Business: An Industry 4.0 Perspective, and \u2018Co-Existence and Synergies in the Marine Space\u2019.<\/p>\n
