{"id":4272,"date":"2018-03-17T11:47:12","date_gmt":"2018-03-17T11:47:12","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/middleeastevents.com\/blog\/?p=4272"},"modified":"2018-03-17T11:47:37","modified_gmt":"2018-03-17T11:47:37","slug":"young-students-on-lifetime-mission-pledge-neveragain-to-school-shootings-at-6th-gesf-in-dubai","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.middleeastevents.com\/blog\/young-students-on-lifetime-mission-pledge-neveragain-to-school-shootings-at-6th-gesf-in-dubai\/","title":{"rendered":"Young Students On &#8216;Lifetime Mission&#8217; Pledge #Neveragain To School Shootings At 6th Gesf In Dubai"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The sixth Global Education and Skills Forum (GESF) opened in Dubai underpinning the need to \u2018ensure every child has access to education\u2019 and with a searing call to put an end to school shootings, especially following one of the world\u2019s deadliest incidents in which 17 people were killed at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida.<\/p>\n<p>Addressing the audience of over 2,000 delegates from 156 countries, comprising heads of states, ministers, achievers, thought leaders and educationists, three students from Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, Florida, USA, rallied support for the <em>#NeverAgain<\/em> campaign, calling for gun control regulation, currently gaining momentum across the US.<\/p>\n<p>With this momentum for the nationwide \u2018March for Our Lives\u2019 protest on March 24 to protest gun violence, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School students Suzanna Barna, Lewis Mizen and Kevin Trejos, said they are on a \u201clifetime mission\u201d to ensure that every kid is safe to get education.
