A civilisation rises.\u2019<\/p>\n<p>The initiative aimed to spread awareness among all segments of the UAE community about children\u2019s rights and the important role that children play in building the future of the country. The event included workshops such as \u2018Happiness Keys\u2019, a wide range of artistic workshops such as \u2018Cut and Paste\u2019 and \u2018Pottery Restoration\u2019, and a discussion session about the UAE child, all of which attracted the participation of a wide number of children and adults.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Reading Box\u2019 initiative has gained considerable momentum and expanded each year with fresh activities that contribute to instilling a love of reading among all members of the community and especially young people. The \u2018Reading Box\u2019 coincides with many events such as Emirati Children&#8217;s Day, International Day of Happiness and Mother&#8217;s Day, and its activities are tailored to these occasions to provide a community platform that highlights the values of UAE society.<\/p>\n<p>The \u2018Reading Box\u2019 initiative won the Arab Library and Information Award in the \u2018Best Project\u2019 category at the 28<sup>th<\/sup> Annual Conference in Cairo last year, where it was recognised for its successful efforts to make reading a fundamental part of UAE life.<\/p>\n<p>Dubai Culture aims to enhance Dubai\u2019s cultural scene and draw attention to the Emirate\u2019s rich heritage with a variety of initiatives that take place throughout the year.
