Held at Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, 191 GMC vehicles gathered to form overa four-kilometerlong parade on the famous Formula One race track. The parade was led by a 2018 6.0L V8 GMC Sierra Denali which valiantly pulled a 30-meter flag displaying a photo of the late Sheikh Zayed, to commemorate the UAE\u2019s Year of Zayed.<\/p>\n<p>The world record title was officiated by representatives from Guinness World Records and successfully accomplished by GMC customers and members of the GMC UAE Club who proudly showcased their own models on the track. Representatives from Abu Dhabi Police, GMC Middle East and Bin Hamoodah Auto \u2013 GMC dealer in Abu Dhabi &#8211; were on the ground to support the record-breaking event. In line with the continual efforts by the UAE authorities to improve traffic and reduce accident rates, the event aimed to shed light on traffic risks while raising awareness of road safety among motorists in the UAE.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Abu Dhabi Police hosted a youth circle titled \u2018Your Life is Precious\u2019 about over speed and traffic accidents, in participation with the Emirates Youth Council. Captain Abdulla Saleh AlJneibi, member of Abu Dhabi Police Youth Council, said, \u201cWe welcome the participation of the Emirates Motor Sports Federation (EMSF) in the youth circle that aims at consolidating the relationship between the police and sports cars owners as they represent the youth community in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>AlJneibi added, \u201cWe are present here as a testament to our cooperation with the UAE private sector, as well as Yas Marina Circuit, through focused events such as this one which observes an official attempt to break a world record for the largest GMC convoy ever \u2013 organized in the UAE.\u00a0 While one of our key roles at Abu Dhabi Police is to raise awareness about road safety, we are taking part to also commemorate the UAE\u2019s Year of Zayed as the convoy carries around the race track of a giant flag displaying the logo of this year\u2019s initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sajed Sbeih, Head of Brand, GMC, at General Motors Middle East, said, \u201cIt is such a great honor for the people of the UAE to celebrate the Year of Zayed and show this pride to a global audience. GMC is all about professional grade and we always strive to make extraordinary achievements to further enrich the brand\u2019s heritage\u201d, Sbeih added.<\/p>\n<p>GMC Middle East, broke its own GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for the largest GMC parade which was previously set byMohammad Saleh and Reza Yousuf Behbehani Co. \u2013 GMC dealers in Kuwait. Held on 3 November 2012, GMC Kuwait gathered 181 GMC vehicles at the 7<sup>th<\/sup> Ring Road, in Kuwait, setting a record of the largest parade of GMC cars.<\/p>\n<p>GCC Traffic Week is a unified campaign by GCC countries which aims to improve driver safety.
