Leading expert in entrepreneurial leadership, Dr. Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj, has joined HEC Paris faculty in Qatar this semester. Her appointment as Associate Professor is set to accelerate world-class research and teaching in the areas of innovation, entrepreneurship and leadership with a particular focus on diversity at the Doha-based campus.<\/p>\n

A prolific researcher, author and speaker, Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj was Associate Professor of Entrepreneurial Leadership at Henley Business School, and Senior Lecturer at Brunel University prior to joining HEC Paris. She is also a world-class business consultant, having founded two leadership consultancies with extensive global client rosters, including Fortune 500 firms.<\/p>\n

Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj will be familiar to readers of Forbes <\/em>Magazine. A regular contributor to ForbesWomen<\/em> since 2018, she has authored more than 30 articles that take a data-driven approach to the latest thinking on diversity and inclusion. Her writing explores a breadth of issues and topics related to what she calls \u201ccognitive diversity;\u201d from the role of technology in human resources to emerging strategies to halt female and minority attrition in the workplace.<\/p>\n

Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj\u2019s work on policy research in the development of women leaders has contributed significantly to EU policy, and she has co-authored highly influential reports, including \u201cWomen in Leadership Across the Commonwealth\u201d which was presented to heads of government in 2013 and 2015.<\/p>\n

In 2016, she published Championing Women Leaders<\/em>, described by Dr Michelle Harrison, CEO of WPP Government and Public Sector Practice, as \u201cessential\u201d reading. Her forthcoming book,Futureproofing Your Career<\/em>, is due out in 2021 and will examine the \u201cnext normal,\u201d with a focus on how adopting an \u2018entrepreneurial\u2019 mindset can help navigate the disruption caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, as well as technological upheavals ahead.<\/p>\n

Dr. Janjuha-Jivraj\u2019s describes her new position at HEC Paris in Qatar as a \u201cstretch opportunity\u201d to experience teaching and working in totally new, international environment.<\/p>\n

\u201cI am so excited to join HEC Paris in Qatar. This is a fantastic time to strengthen our offerings in entrepreneurship and leadership and I’m particularly excited about the opportunity to provide programs focusing on women and leadership across all sectors.\u00a0\u00a0One of my goals is to develop a strong research agenda on women in leadership in the region, to benchmark progress. And I want to further my agenda of developing thinking around how entrepreneurial leadership provides a new way to harness innovation and leadership with diverse teams.\u201d<\/p>\n

Shaheena Janjuha-Jivraj holds a PhD in Family Business Succession from Brunel Business School and she has attended programs at Harvard Business School and Manchester Business School. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.<\/p>\n
