“The Arab world has a long-standing\u00a0history with\u00a0space studies and astronomy, with many early pioneers in the field. This rich heritage\u00a0continues to power our future through our\u00a0numerous\u00a0space exploration\u00a0endeavours,\u00a0which will\u00a0establish\u00a0a lasting legacy\u00a0for future generations of Emiratis\u00a0as well as providing inspiration for the region.\u00a0We are\u00a0proud to see\u00a0the UAE among the top nine countries worldwide for space science investments. As relative newcomers to the global space sector, this success is indicative of our\u00a0consistent\u00a0efforts to push boundaries and further establish the UAE as the heart of an Arab scientific future,” Commenting at the summit, H.E.\u00a0Yousuf Hamad Al\u00a0Shaibani, Director General of the Mohammed\u00a0bin Rashid Space Center said.<\/p>\n
The Hope Mars mission aims to provide a holistic study of the Martian atmosphere on a diurnal and seasonal timescale to identify the main factors of the escape of hydrogen and Oxygen the building blocks of water. It\u00a0is a three-meter tall probe with 600 KW solar panels and will embark soon, on its 55-million-kilometer journey to the Red Planet. Other key features of the interplanetary probe include state-of-the-art spectrometers and imagers that will capture crucial information on the Martian atmosphere and climate.<\/p>\n
“The Mars 2117 programme and the Hope Mars Probe are\u00a0projects\u00a0of great importance, as\u00a0they\u00a0further boost the UAE’s presence among the international space community. The Emirates Mars Mission will give us the first truly global picture of the Martian atmosphere\u00a0and reflect the country’s vision for science and technology fields development.\u00a0With these projects, we\u00a0have\u00a0begun a new journey that will last for decades to come\u00a0and\u00a0will speed up human endeavours to explore other planets.”\u00a0Omran Sharaf, Project Manager of Emirates Mars Mission commented.<\/p>\n
