Fahad Badar, the Qatari high-altitude climber, adventure seeker and banking executive leader, keeps challenging himself after every mountaineering expedition. Fahad Badar has yet again chosen a tough summit to achieve the mean feat: Ama Dablam, located in Nepal. Despite the Covid-19 pandemic, he was ready to begin the journey with all the required precautions and measures.<\/p>\n

Winter expeditions are a real challenge for any mountaineer who desires to break the limits. Despite the pandemic and its regulations, Ama Dablam is one of the perfect destinations for achieving such a feat, as it requires technical knowledge and endurance through harsh conditions. Fahad Badar, the first Arab man to summit Everest and Lhotse in a single trip, reached the summit of Ama Dablam on 14th<\/sup> Jan 2021<\/p>\n

Ama Dablam-which translates to \u201cmother\u2019s necklace\u201d- is a life-changing ascent. Located in the Nepalese Himalayas, Ama Dablam is a daunting peak rising 6,856 meters in elevation. It is a popular mountaineering destination for experienced mountaineers, not only for its incredible natural appeal but also for the exhilarating challenges that accompany the climb.<\/p>\n

Due to its immense altitude and geographic location, Ama Dablam can only be climbed at two points in the year: from April to May or September to October. But Fahad was looking for more challenges and started his expedition in the month of December 2020. What is so special about Ama Dablam in winter? Besides the thrilling climbing routes made of snow, ice, and rock, the expedition itself has a higher level of difficulty due to the season itself. And it\u2019s among the most technical and challenging climbs on Earth. All these conditions tested Fahad\u2019s abilities and resilience, providing fundamental experiences that will be useful in his upcoming trips.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was looking forward to reaching the summit of Ama Dablam. It\u2019s been quite a long time since I\u2019ve been away from the mountains, and I have the need to return to the place where I feel the most alive,\u201d said Fahad. He also mentioned how important it was to train his mind during all these months where the expeditions were canceled due to COVID-19.<\/p>\n
