President of the Dubai Press Club and Secretary General of the Arab Journalism Award Her Excellency Mona Al Marri, members of the Board of Arab Journalism Award and a host of editors in chief, journalists and media leaders attended the virtual event.<\/p>\n<p>The Arab Journalism Award honoured 11 winners, selected from about 6,000 nominations. The winners of the Award represented daily newspapers, magazines, online web portals and various media organisations from the Arab world.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The winners of the Arab Journalism Award 2020 are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Media Personality of the Year: <\/strong>NaylaTueni, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of <em>Annahar<\/em> newspaper, Lebanon<\/li>\n<li><strong>Best Column Award: <\/strong>Othman Mirghani, Editor-in-Chief of the independent newspaper <em>Al-Tayar<\/em>, Sudan<\/li>\n<li><strong>Political Journalism Award: <\/strong>Mohamed Amin Al Masri from <em>Al-Ahram<\/em>newspaper, Egypt<\/li>\n<li><strong>Economic Journalism Award:<\/strong><em>Al Khaleej<\/em> newspaper, UAE<\/li>\n<li><strong>Investigative Reporting Award: <\/strong>Jamal Jouhar from <em>Asharq Al-Awsat<\/em>newspaper<\/li>\n<li><strong>Press Interview Award: <\/strong>Mohammed Mansour from <em>Al-Roeya<\/em> newspaper, UAE<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cultural Journalism Award: <\/strong>Tareq Al Taher from\u00a0<em>Akhbar Al-Adab<\/em> magazine, Egypt<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sports Journalism Award: <\/strong>Motaz El Shamy from <em>Al-Ittihad<\/em> newspaper, UAE<\/li>\n<li><strong>Photojournalism Award: <\/strong>Saber Nooraldin from the European Pressphoto Agency<\/li>\n<li><strong>Young Journalist Award:<\/strong><\/li>\n<li>Samar Saleh from <em>El-Watan\u00a0<\/em>newspaper, Egypt<\/li>\n<li>Abdul-Samad Edinadin from <em>Bayane Al-Yaoume<\/em> newspaper, Morocco<\/li>\n<li>Ahmed Atef from <em>Al-Dostor<\/em> newspaper, Egypt<\/li>\n<li><strong>Smart Journalism Award: <\/strong><em>Youm7<\/em> newspaper, Egypt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Board of the Arab Journalism Award did not announce a winner for the Humanitarian Journalism Award and the Outstanding Cartoonist Award this year since the submissions did not meet the nomination criteria.<\/p>\n<p>This year, the General Secretariat of the Arab Journalism Award decided to host the award ceremony virtually due to the current global challenges related to COVID-19 and the travel restrictions imposed in some countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Arab Journalism Award ceremony was held as part of the 19th edition of the Arab Media Forum. Held under the theme \u2018Arab Media: The Future is Digital\u2019, the Forum saw more than 10,000 people tune in to the Forum\u2019s sessions, which were broadcast live on a special platform set up for the Forum and through the live feature on DPC\u2019s official Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts.
