UAE companies have dominated the 2020 Gulfood Innovation Awards, the food and beverage industry accolades which celebrate and recognise outstanding F&B breakthroughs across a wide cross-section of brands and products.<\/p>\n

The awards, a major feature of Gulfood 2020, the region\u2019s longest-running annual food and beverage (F&B) trade show at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), attracted more than 500 entries across the 12 categories.<\/p>\n

Judged by a panel of prestigious industry leaders, categories included Most Innovative Soft Beverage; Most Innovative Hot Beverage; Most Innovative Dairy Product; Most Innovative Halal Food; Most Innovative Baked Product; Most Innovative Organic Product; Most Innovative Condiment or Sauce; Most Innovative Frozen or Chilled Food; Most Innovative Health & Wellness Product; Most Innovative Meat or Poultry Product; Best New Product Development and Best Packaging (Design) Impact.<\/p>\n

Winning the award for the \u2018Most Innovative Hot Beverage\u2019 was IFFCO, the UAE-based integrated multi food products group, for its Karak Chai Camel Milk.<\/p>\n

Digvijay Sharma, CEO at IFFCO, said: \u201cOur Karak chai has proven very popular and we hope our camel milk variant will have the same success, especially now it\u2019s won a prestigious Gulfood Innovation Award. We believe our product range appeals to local and regional consumers and we look forward to bringing out more innovative products in-line with our regional expansion.\u201d<\/p>\n

Another UAE-based power brand, Global Food Industries\u2019 picked up two awards. The firm\u2019s Plant Protein Pea, Quinoa & Kale Burger (beef-free) won \u2018Most Innovative Halal Food\u2019, while its Chicken, Quinoa & Kale Burger won \u2018Most Innovative Meat or Poultry Product\u2019.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese awards underline the outstanding efforts of our team over the last five years. Winning two awards highlight that we are on the right track with our product range and that we are responding to the changing needs of modern consumers,\u201d said Jacek Plewa, CEO, Global Food Industries.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Bidfood Middle East, the region\u2019s leading foodservice distributor of food, beverage and non-food related products, won \u2018Most Innovative Frozen or Chilled Food\u2019 for its Haagen-Dazs Barista Line.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are always looking to offer unique flavors and ingredient to our customers, and we are committed to offering innovative products that distinguish us from competitors in a competitive market category,\u201d said Wissam Menkara, Regional Sales Manager \u2013 Food Services, Bidfood Middle East.<\/p>\n

In addition, the UAE\u2019s New Country Healthcare was another double winner, with its OA Foods Palmini products claiming the \u2018Best New Product Development\u2019 and \u2018Most Innovative Baked Product\u2019 awards<\/p>\n

Six additional awards were handed out to France\u2019s Eclor for \u2018Most Innovative Soft Beverage\u2019; Savencia for \u2018Most Innovative Dairy Product\u2019; Estonia\u2019s FS Goods for \u2018Most Innovative Organic Product\u2019; the USA\u2019s Bunge for \u2018Most Innovative Condiment or Sauce\u2019; Italy\u2019s Andrea Milano for \u2018Most Innovative Health & Wellness Product\u2019; and the UAE\u2019s Vendome Tea DMCC for \u2018Best Packaging (Design) Impact\u2019.<\/p>\n

The Gulfood Innovation Awards winners, along with other innovative foods of the future, are on display in the Future Zone at Gulfood 2020, a trade event for business and trade visitors.
