{"id":19576,"date":"2020-02-17T14:37:53","date_gmt":"2020-02-17T10:37:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.middleeastevents.com\/blog\/?p=19576"},"modified":"2020-02-17T14:37:53","modified_gmt":"2020-02-17T10:37:53","slug":"top-chefs-serve-up-a-true-taste-of-world-and-a-slice-of-the-future-at-gulfood-2020","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.middleeastevents.com\/blog\/top-chefs-serve-up-a-true-taste-of-world-and-a-slice-of-the-future-at-gulfood-2020\/","title":{"rendered":"Top Chefs Serve Up A True Taste Of World And A Slice Of The Future At Gulfood 2020"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Gulfood 2020, the landmark 25<sup>th<\/sup> edition of the region\u2019s longest-running annual food and beverage (F&amp;B) trade show at Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC), opened on Sunday, 16 February, with renowned culinary champions displaying their tremendous talents, awarding-winning dishes and different approaches to food.<\/p>\n<p><em>Tastes of the World, <\/em>Gulfood\u2019s popular interactive feature, is collecting an extraordinary line-up of the biggest food change-makers and Michelin-starred chefs for five days of cuisine innovation in-line with the 2020 event\u2019s \u2018Rethinking Food\u2019 theme.<\/p>\n<p>Taking centre stage on the opening day, acclaimed UAE chefs Nick Alvis and Scott Price of Dubai dining hotspot <em>Folly<\/em>, invited guests into the future with their pop-up <em>Twenty-Five<\/em> restaurant, conceived for the show\u2019s silver jubilee. Lucky guests enjoyed a three-course lunch and culinary experience of \u201csophistication and innovation\u201d. The menu featured Devon crab followed by the duo\u2019s famed roasted saddle of lamb and rounded off with blood orange cheesecake.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe theme for <em>Twenty-Five <\/em>is 25 years into the future. We think fine dining is going to make a comeback, so we incorporated classic elements of the concept alongside our signature dishes,\u201d said Price, with Alvis adding: \u201cWe are honoured to be a part of the show, especially kicking off the restaurant at lunch time. Every year we see something different at Gulfood, it is continuously moving forward with more and more big names participating.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>On the <em>Tastes of the World <\/em>stage, Greg Malouf, one of Australia\u2019s most influential chefs, and a recognised authority on Middle East cuisine, treated visitors to a unique spin on a family recipe of salmon tarator, a Tahini-based sauce. \u201cIt\u2019s exciting to be a part of the live demonstrations and meet and interact with the audience,\u201d said Malouf. \u201cThe arena is full of knowledge and the sessions are informative; it\u2019s great to see chefs innovating with different cuisines from around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><em>Tastes of the World<\/em> continues today with appearances by celebrity chef and Top Chef Arabia judge Maroun Chedid, Heinz Beck, holder of three Michelin stars, Chef Tsuyoshi Ueda, from the world\u2019s first Michelin-starred ramen restaurant, <em>Tsuta<\/em>, and more.<\/p>\n<p>Gulfood 2020 is a trade event open strictly to business and trade visitors.
