Kia Motors unveiled the new Sonet compact SUV concept at the Auto Expo 2020 in Delhi, India, alongside Kia Motors India, wholly owned subsidiary of Kia Motors Corporation, for not only the Indian market in mind, but thinking of the young and modern customer in the Middle East & Africa region.<\/p>\n

The Kia Sonet, unveiled for the first time ever, previews a future global compact SUV from the brand. The concept will be developed further ahead of a launch in the Indian market in the second half of 2020, followed by a regional Middle East & Africa launch later in the year.<\/p>\n

Mr. Kookhyun Shim, MD and CEO for Kia Motors India, said \u201cWhen Kia launched in India two years ago, we came here to win the hearts of Indian customers. Today, I can say that our approach \u2013 to do more than simply build and sell great cars here \u2013 is bearing fruit.\u201d<\/p>\n

Mr. Yaser Shabsogh, Chief Operating Officer, Regional HQs, Middle East & Africa, Kia, said: \u201cWe are excited to bring to our region yet another brand-new SUV. \u00a0We believe it will exceed our young and modern customers\u2019 expectations, and will be a great addition to our growing SUV range. We are also delighted it is coming from our India facility, completed last year. This is our newest facility globally, and is already supplying us with the Seltos SUV, our most recent launch in the region\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Kia Sonet: a modern, dynamic and bold compact SUV concept <\/strong><\/p>\n

Targeted at a demographic that is always connected to the world in more ways than one, the Sonet is designed to exceed customers\u2019 lifestyle and technology expectations.<\/p>\n

With a modern, dynamic and bold design, the Sonet is equipped with several first-in-class features. These include head-turning looks, Kia\u2019s signature \u2018tiger-nose\u2019 grille, stepwell geometry within the grille mesh, \u2018tiger-eyeline\u2019 daytime running lights, and wide rear signature lighting.<\/p>\n

Inside, Sonet is made for the young, social, connected, and tech-savvy customers. The cabin is fitted with a 10.25-inch infotainment and navigation system with UVO Connect, a Bose premium audio system, and an intelligent manual transmission (iMT). The Kia Sonet concept also hints at best-in-class interior space, and certain first-in-class features especially crafted for the young consumers.<\/p>\n
