{"id":11742,"date":"2016-01-18T08:56:47","date_gmt":"2016-01-18T04:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.middleeastevents.com\/blog\/?p=11742"},"modified":"2019-03-25T08:58:02","modified_gmt":"2019-03-25T04:58:02","slug":"flash-update-2-madaya-bqine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.middleeastevents.com\/blog\/flash-update-2-madaya-bqine\/","title":{"rendered":"Flash Update #2 &#8211; Madaya\/Bqine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Highlights<\/p>\n<p>\u2022On 11 and 14 January, two UN\/ICRC\/SARC convoys simultaneously delivered humanitarian assistance to Madaya\/Bqine and Foah\/Kafraya for 40,000 and 20,000 people under siege respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022During these missions, UN\/SARC\/ICRC teams confirmed cases of severe malnutrition in Madaya and related deaths.<\/p>\n<p>\u20225 people reportedly died of starvation since the 11 January convoy entered Madaya\/Bqine.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022Several cases require urgent specialised care outside of Madaya. While 10 people were evacuated in the last days, approvals for the evacuation of others remains pending.<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 More than 400 cases have been assessed.
