Themed \u2018SME 10X \u2013 The Future of Business, 10 Years from Now\u2019, the conference SME Beyond Borders 2019 was graced by presence of futurists, policymakers and industry leaders to assess trends shaping the future of business; covering a wide-range of topics from technology-revamping industries of the future to the UAE\u2019s space exploration ambitions.<\/p>\n
The agenda included multiple interactions throughout the day for the exchange of futuristic ideas: \u201cRe-building trust in a paranoid future\u201d by Ian Khan; Peter Hinssenn\u2019s \u201cThe day after tomorrow\u201d, Musthafa PC\u2019s \u201cThe future of retail\u201d, Dr. Majid Sultan Al Qassimi\u2019s \u201cThe future of food security and social impact\u201d, Mohamed Hamdy\u2019s \u201cThe future of enterprise\u201d, Mustafa Kheriba\u2019s \u201cThe future of funding and SME investment\u201d; Rami Harsinghani\u2019s \u201cThe future of VR\u201d, Jenk OZ\u2019s \u201cThe future generation\u201d, Charlie Ang\u2019s \u201cThe future of industry 4.0 \u2013 and how to survive it\u201d; and Reyhan Jamalova\u2019s \u201cThe future of sustainable energy\u201d were all highlights of the exchanges between prominent industry professionals.<\/p>\n
Dubai South’s Business Park participated at this year\u2019s edition of SME Beyond Borders as a testament to our commitment to cultivate the culture of entrepreneurship and to become part of the pillars that chart the course of SMEs into the future. During the event, Shoaib Al Rahimi, VP Business Park talked about the importance of SMEs to the industry, considering their significant role as key drivers of the economy, especially in Dubai which comprises 60 per cent of all enterprises, Dubai South has carefully designed its business solutions for SMEs.<\/p>\n
Ramit Harisinghani, VP and head of Middle East & Africa at HTC Vive, one of the company\u2019s participating speaker commented: \u201cThe SME community contributes significantly to the region\u2019s economic landscape while often being early adopters of new ideas, tool and technologies.
