Dublin
- March 29, 2010:
Tourism Ireland is showcasing Ireland as a first class tourism and MICE destination for Gulf visitors at the Gulf Incentive, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM), stand H132, 29-31 March 2010. Exhibiting on the same stand are Dublin Convention Bureau and Advantage ico providing advice and expertise on MICE travel to Ireland, while The Westin Dublin will highlight its facilities for the Arabic market, which include Arabic speaking staff and compasses and prayer mats as well as a dedicated prayer room on request.
These special touches have earned the historic luxury five star hotel a growing customer base in the Gulf which has been reflected in visitor numbers over the last year, with corporate bookings by multinational companies operating in the Middle East and Ireland representing a significant segment in recent months. The hotel welcomes its Arabic visitors with gestures such as Arabic welcome notes and the Arabic amenities, and its location opposite the famous trinity college in the heart of Dublin and within easy reach of the main shopping area on Grafton Street continues to attract the Middle Eastern market.
Aiveen Ryan, Tourism Ireland, said:
“Ireland has so much to offer tourists and business travellers alike, with first class conference facilities, excellent destination management solutions, and thoughtful service from hotels such as The Westin Dublin. Visitors from the GCC are often stuck by our green country and the warm hospitality, and as we enter the summer months, businesses wishing to escape the heat of the Gulf can take advantage of the temperate climate of the Emerald Isle. As Etihad Airways increasing its frequencies to 10 flights per week, Ireland becomes more accessible than ever before.
“We are delighted to meet our industry peers and show all that Ireland has to offer here at GIBTM in Abu Dhabi.”
The GIBTM exhibition is one of the key international events for the MICE industry and it hosts more than 250 exhibitors under the roof of Abu Dhabi National Exhibitions Centre where it offers an opportunity for buyers and suppliers to meet.
