The Chief Executive of Qatar Airways, Akbar Al Baker, is part of a Qatari delegation due to visit Dubai 2003 - the eighth international aviation and aerospace exhibition.
The visit to the show, being held from December 7-11 at the Airport Expo Dubai, comes as part of an extensive civil aviation delegations programme being organised by the Department of Civil Aviation, Government of Dubai in conjunction with the show organisers, Fairs & Exhibitions (F&E). Other VIP Qatari delegates invited to the show include the Director of the Civil Aviation Authority, Abdul Aziz Al Noaimi.
Qatar Airways is one of the world’s fastest-growing airlines and its astonishing growth and the rapid development of the Middle East’s aviation sector has captured the attention of the international aviation industry.
One of the airliners in Qatar Airways rapidly expanding fleet - an Airbus A319 Corporate Jet - will also be on static display. It is one of 85 aircraft due to fly in - the largest number of any Dubai show to date. More than 20 of the aircraft, including the F-16 Fighting Falcon, Airbus A340-600 and Mirage 2000 - will take part in the daily flying displays.
The Qatari delegation is among more than 200 civil aviation top brass, including airline chief executives, aviation authorities and Ministries from 71 countries who have been officially invited to attend Dubai 2003.

Other Civil VIP delegates invited to the show include: Pakistan’s Director General Civil Aviation, Air Marshal Pervaiz Akhtar Nawaz; Roger Cato, Managing Director BAA London; Gordon Bethune, Continental Airlines Chairman & CEO; Richard Anderson, CEO, Northwest Airlines; Qantas Chief Executive, Geoff Dixon; Mr Liu Yanbin, Director General of Civil Aviation of China (CAAC); Jean-Cyril Spinetta, President and Director General Air France; Wolfgang Mayrhuber, Chairman and CEO Lufthansa; Mr Hiroki Ishikawa, Director General Civil Aviation Bureau, Ministry of Transport Japan; Yi Taek Shim, President, Korean Air; Mallam Isa Yuguda, Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Turkish Airlines President Abdul Rahman Gundogdu.
