, UAE - June 11, 2007:
du, the new telecommunications operator in the UAE, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Fujairah Career Fair taking place on 12-13 June 2007. The company will unveil a host of job openings for UAE Nationals at the event, in line with its ongoing commitment to supporting the UAE government in its efforts to provide quality career opportunities to deserving nationals.
Emphasising du's dedication to the government’s Emiratisation strategy, Osman Sultan, Chief Executive Officer of du, said: “du’s participation in the Fujairah Career Fair highlights its ongoing commitment to creating job opportunities for UAE Nationals with the right skills and qualifications. Our previous participation in the Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Al Ain career fairs were very positive experiences for both the candidates as well as du. We believe UAE nationals will benefit from our presence at the Fujairah fair as well, by securing a challenging and satisfying career with a forward looking and innovative local company."
The du stand will include a number of interactive facilities providing glimpses of the work environment at du, where senior members of its HR department will also be present to offer career counselling to UAE nationals seeking a position with the company.
Fujairah Career Fair acts as a platform which brings together talented UAE Nationals from all fields to meet and interact with officials of top organisations in the country. The Fair will open the door for candidates to be introduced to the companies’ work environments and activities as well as opportunities to have summer training and jobs.
The event is also designed to expose Emirati job seekers to the various training and career opportunities that are offered by participant employers. It also provides them with a chance to present their skills and qualifications by interacting with recruitment managers.
Fahad Al Hassawi, Executive Vice President, Human Resources, du, said du attaches great significance to efforts aimed at empowering all nationals and taking the country forward on the growth path. “We are always seeking ways to communicate with our young nationals to identify their skills and talents and our participation in these career fairs allows us to effectively achieve this objective in a manner that enables us to provide them with appropriate opportunities across the UAE.”
In addition to its involvement in career fairs across the UAE, du has devised a number of specific undergraduate and graduate training programmes for UAE Nationals with various education levels. These programmes are designed to strengthen their skills as well as create optimum awareness levels about the tasks the candidates are chosen for. In addition, du has partnered with various organisations, such as ENDP and TANMIA, as part of its drive to recruit qualified UAE Nationals.
