Dubai , UAE - December 14, 2003:  To coincide with its participation in Lifestyle Expo 2003 on December 11 and 12, EMAAR Properties, developers of the 50 million square foot Dubai Marina waterfront community, will showcase the retail and berthing facilities located at the foot of the six marina towers. Twenty shops and restaurants, and a large berthing facility for vessels will be ready and in operation by February and April 2004, respectively.

Commenting on the facilities Mansour Al Othaimin, Executive Director, Sales and Marketing, EMAAR Properties said: "We are proud to announce that a selection of upmarket restaurants will soon open alongside the Dubai Marina water channel. These will complement our drive to provide the finest example of waterfront living so that our residents' needs and requirements are met at all times. Although we are planning a grand opening for the retail facilities in April 2004, some of the restaurants will be opening as soon as February."

Both the South and North podiums of the development will feature an eclectic mix of restaurants. The South Podium will include Il Forno (Italian), Dizisara (Iranian), Johnny Rockets (American), Toscana (Mediterranean), Cosmo/Hakawati (Shisha), Elite Café & restaurant (health/salad bar), Starbucks, Baskin Robins and Dunkin Donuts. Butlers Laundry, Marina Pharmacy, Kidz Inc Nursery School and African & Eastern complete the selection.

The North Podium will boast a Spinneys Supermarket, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Noodle Bar, Royal Orchid (Thai and Chinese), Blues (seafood), Rupee Room (Indian) and Chandelier (Arabic).

Below the Marina's shopping promenade and pedestrian boulevard, boating facilities and pontoons will allow mooring for vessels of various sizes. Leasing arrangements are to be announced at a later stage.

Othaimin also outlined the benefits of exhibiting EMAAR's project at an event such as the Lifestyle Expo: "We hope to meet with individuals and companies who will be interested in learning more about EMAAR's waterfront and boating lifestyle. Given the yachting environment and the added bonus of the powerboat racing over the next two days, it is also the perfect platform to introduce the planned restaurant and berthing facilities, a crucial part of the waterfront lifestyle we are promoting at Dubai Marina," Al Othaimin continued.

Two marquees have been dedicated to showcase Dubai Marina and its developments where the EMAAR Sales and Retail teams will be on hand to provide information.

The first phase of Dubai Marina, which is over 2.7 million square feet, consists of waterfront apartments in six high-rise towers and luxury villas on a podium structure containing swimming pools, spa and sports facilities and shops.

A 3.5km water channel will be flanked by parks and a 11km pedestrian walkway, starting from Dubai International Marine Club (DIMC) and returning just beyond the Sheraton Jumeirah Hotel. It forms part of Dubai's high-profile downtown, which features EMAAR's prestigious Emirates Hills project, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, the American University in Dubai, beaches, shopping malls and luxury hotels.
