- May 23, 2010:
The third annual Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology Exhibition & Conference (PABME) was formally inaugurated this morning by H E Laila Al Jassmi, CEO of Health Policy & Strategy for the Dubai Health Authority. The event takes place from 23rd – 25th May, 2010, at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, UAE.
PABME 2010 is organised by IIR Middle East Life Sciences Division and is the region’s only event that is being formatted as a major exhibition with a multi-disciplinary conference running alongside. The conferences will address global and regional issues such as pharmaceutical registration, facilities design, upgrade and expansion, emerging technologies, marketing, clinical trials and current trends in the industry.
One of the world’s leading Clinical Research Organisations with a presence in over 40 countries worldwide, ClinTec International, today launched the first of its global academies at the PABME Biotechnology Exhibition & Conference.
The global Academy of Clinical Excellence (ACRE) is a new initiative of ClinTec International in the emerging markets. For the first time in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, ACRE provides an opportunity to the Clinical Research industry to be trained, educated and empowered in a wide array of educational opportunities in clinical research. The mission of ACRE is to accelerate knowledge growth and to increase the number and quality of clinical research projects in the MENA region.
Over the last few years there has been a rise in the demand for knowledge in the clinical research industry. The launch of ACRE is an acknowledgment of the crucial role that clinical research professionals have to play in developing clinical research in this region to international standards. It is also another tangible landmark of the firm commitment that ClinTec has to the MENA region. ACRE has adapted its training programs to suit the needs of each region and has developed a strong regional agenda aimed at stimulating and interactive sessions.
CEO for Medical Practices and Licenses, Ministry of Health UAE, Dr. Amin Al Amiri commented: “Education plays the most important role in the development of any country. Training and education in research is of paramount importance to the United Arab Emirates. One of the most effective ways to make clinical research more meaningful is by having a thorough knowledge of the processes and procedures involved in research. Developing the capacity of the investigators and all involved in research to understand the full implications of the international standards required in conducting clinical research in this region can be complex, ambiguous and challenging.
Therefore it is important to undergo rigorous training and direct instruction. Cultivating a learning culture is imperative for professional success and the benefits of being involved in research include professional advancement. The more informed we are the more qualified our decisions can be. Training initiatives such as ClinTec's Academy of Clinical Research Excellence play an important role in the development of our region and are very welcome.”
Dr Rabinder Buttar, President and CEO of ClinTec International, says: “Imparting and sharing knowledge is an important part of our collaboration with the clinical research industry. As we step into an era that demands accelerated knowledge growth our focus is to educate, train and empower the clinical research professionals in the emerging markets. ClinTec addresses this need through the establishment of its global Academy of Clinical Research Excellence (ACRE) by running certified training courses which will address all the main principles of the International Guidelines on Good Clinical Practice. We believe that imparting knowledge helps us to have a unique bond with clinical research industry.”
The ACRE workshop is accredited by the Dubai Health Authority for 11 (eleven) CPD/CME points.
The three-day PABME Exhibition will run from 23 to 25 May, 2010 from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm (Tuesday May 25, 10.00am to 5.00pm only). Trade visitors have unlimited access to the exhibition, and may register their participation any time during the event.
