AkzoNobel, a leading global paints company, is supporting the region’s focus on promoting sustainable built environments as the Principal Sponsor of the EmiratesGBC Annual Congress to be held on October 17 & 18, 2017, in Dubai.

Organised by the Emirates Green Building Council (EmiratesGBC), an independent forum aimed at conserving the environment by strengthening and promoting green building practices, the sixth annual congress will be held under the theme, ‘Urban Energy: Powering Smart, Happy & Efficient Cities.’

AkzoNobel will share insights on how its products are ideally suited to promote building efficiency with Rajiv Rajgopal, Regional Director, AkzoNobel Middle East & Africa delivering a keynote speech, and Maria Malo, Business Development Manager MEA, AkzoNobel, taking part in a panel discussion on ‘Accelerating Building Efficiency.’

Rajiv Rajgopal said: “The EmiratesGBC Annual Congress is a key event that brings together multiple stakeholders from the building and construction industry to address sustainability challenges and opportunities. AkzoNobel’s support of the event underlines our commitment to promote green practices in buildings to enhance their sustainability.”

AkzoNobel’s support to the EmiratesGBC Annual Congress also underpins its three equity drivers – Sustainability, Innovation and Human Cities. “Our innovative coating solutions are environmentally sustainable and durable, adding to the sustainability factor of the buildings. Buildings are significant contributors to greenhouse gases as per studies by EPA, so the adoption of environmental-friendly coating solutions can help address it and in turn secure a greener future for our coming generations,” added Rajgopal.

Through its support, AkzoNobel will strengthen awareness of its Decorative Paints, Powder Coatings and Protective Coatings to the participants. A new range of Decorative Paints is set to be launched in the UAE, which will also be highlighted at the event for its characteristics that not only add aesthetic value to the projects but also contribute to more sustainable buildings.

AkzoNobel Decorative Paints are developed following in-depth market research and trend studies to identify changing tastes and preferences of people. The company also leverages its international trend research experience of over 15 years in developing its innovative suite of products. AkzoNobel has a dedicated team of colour experts at its Global Aesthetic Centre, who bring tremendous insights in developing the product line.

Headquartered in Amsterdam, AkzoNobel has centuries of experience in paints and coatings, with its portfolio including well-known brands such as Dulux, Sikkens, International, Interpon and Eka.
